In-Line Particulate Removal for Sanitary Process Systems

Sani-Matic’s 316L stainless steel angle-line strainer isolates particulates and contaminant debris from process streams without substantial pressure drops. This is a critical requirement in sanitary food, beverage, and pharmaceutical lines, as well as data center liquid cooling loops where debris can block micro-channel cold plates and cause localized thermal failures. The short body with a tri-clamp end-inlet connection handles up to 165 gpm at a clean pressure drop of approximately 2.9 psi. The 4″ body houses a 3″ × 15″ perforated element with ¼” (0.25″) hole size and 58% open area, providing high flow capacity with a low resistance to clean fluid. All wetted surfaces are 316L SS with a 32 µin Ra sanitary finish on welds and internal components. The standard seal kit pairs an EPDM gasket with a Teflon encapsulated silicone O-ring. Maximum rated pressure is 125 psi at 250°F using the standard tri-clamp (13MHHM).

The angle-line design allows the strainer element to be pulled for cleaning or replacement without removing the body from the process line, minimizing downtime. Flow direction is end-inlet (standard flow), and the same body can be reconfigured to side-inlet (reverse flow) using a conversion kit.
